beneficio de café de la familia León. En el año 1905, se
acababa de instalar una nueva tecnología, cargando los granos
secos de café a las carretas por medio de la fuerza de gravedad.
Desde el beneficio, se llevaba el café a la puesta aduanera en La
Garita de Alajuela para luego ser embarcado en Puntarenas. Todo
este viaje se hacía con carretas jaladas por bueyes, lo que
tomaba varios días. |
The
coffee processing plant of the León family. In 1905 a new
technique was introduced to load the dry coffee beans onto the
wagons using the force of gravity. The coffee beans were
transported from the processing plant to the customs facility at
La Garita de Alajuela and from there they were taken to Puntarenas
harbour. The whole trip was made by oxcart and took several days. |
