Although
Costa Rica presently does not have an army, it has had its share
of warfare also. This photo was taken during the 1917 coup of one
of the Tinoco brothers against President Alfredo González Flores.
The soldiers are standing on top of the Bella Vista Fort, at the
site where the Banco Central is now located in downtown San José. |
